STEP consists of two core programs:
- STEP’s College-Prep Program – We guide first-generation college-bound Arizona high-school students through the process of preparing for and applying to college via monthly college-prep workshops throughout their sophomore, junior, and senior year. Students are encouraged to consider colleges and universities around the U.S. as well as Arizona.
- STEP’s Leadership Expedition Program – Upon acceptance into STEP’s College-Prep Program students enter a pool of candidates to be considered for acceptance into STEP’s Leadership Expedition Program. At the core of this program is a life-transforming 3-week leadership wilderness expedition in Alaska during the summer between a student’s junior and senior year. STEP’s Leadership Expedition is designed to increase students' self-confidence, enhance their ability to meet unfamiliar challenges, and widen their view of what’s possible for the future.
